Regional Sponsored Migration – RSMS

 

Employer Sponsored Migration- ENS

1. There have lower skill thresholds and employee and employer obligations, so easier and possibly faster.


2. RSMS is optional in regional areas inAustralia (employers from metros not allowed)  

3. Skill assessment criteria are much less rigorous or no need  in the RSMS 

4. In the case of the RSMS, it doesn't look like I have to do skills assessment; however the employer and position must be approved by a Regional Certifying Body.

6. Sponsoring employer or business is in a regional area. 

7. The RSMS Nomination by the employer requires the approval of a Regional Certifying Body 

8. Applicants with diploma level qualifications or higher

9. Processing Cost to the employee is the same for ENS and RSMS


10. For an employer, there is no nomination charge for RSMS


11. As far as the timescales and priority  are concerned, the actual visa grant time should be similar as both are currently in the processing priority category 

12. All visa applications under these two categories rely on the success of the Australian Employer’s sponsorship/nomination of the application.


13.  Be less than 45 years old and have the appropriate English language skills for the visa, unless exceptional circumstances apply(exceptionalcircumstances can only be sought for the ENS and RSMS);

 

14. The main difference for employer and employee is that on RSMS, you are required to stay with the sponsoring employer for 2 years or risk having your visa cancelled

15. RSMS Visa grants Australian permanent residence under this Visa type. As a permanent resident; you have the right to live, work and study in Australia for as long as you wish. When you are granted permanent residence, a Visa label is placed in your passport as proof of your permanent residency.

Other benefits of holding permanent residence include access to Medicare (government-subsidized health care), and the ability to apply for citizenship once you satisfy the residency requirements.
